The game

What is Eggstreme Farming? A cozy first-person egg-farm management sim by Sagitta Studios: buy licensed birds, keep them fed and watered, collect eggs into trays, sell at the vending machine, automate, expand.

How much does it cost and where? $6.99 on Steam (launch discount took it to $5.94 at release), Windows PC. It released September 4, 2026.

Is there multiplayer or co-op? No — single-player only, per the official store listing.

Is there a demo? Is it the same as the full game? A demo exists, and it differs in ways that matter: the demo has no incubator, doesn’t let you sell animals, requires full trays to sell (the full release takes partials), and showed different unlock levels. Anything guide-like you read from demo footage deserves suspicion — all pages on this site mark demo-era facts.

The daily loop

Do chickens lay at night? No. Laying runs roughly 6:00–18:00, about one egg per bird per in-game hour, with the last window around 18:00. Birds sleep through the night and so should you — your bed skips to morning.

Can you pause the game? No pause was found in the launch build — the time controls are normal speed and fast forward (~2×). The game is low-pressure by design; birds don’t starve in the minutes it takes to read a guide.

Do eggs go bad? No rot timer observed in launch footage — eggs sat overnight and sold fine the next day. (Flagged for long-run verification, but nobody has lost money to a rotten egg yet.)

Why is one of my chickens not laying? In order of likelihood: it’s night, water is empty, feed is empty, or the bird’s health/immunity bars are drained. Diagnosis: why isn’t my chicken laying.

Where does the sixth chicken sleep? They don’t need slots — the pen’s capacity is six birds, and coop space is cosmetic. Birds occasionally sleep outside; nobody has observed it matter.

Money and selling

What’s the best egg to sell? Whichever your best pen lays — large brown trays paid the most in launch week ($37.50–$45 per 30). Pricing: egg sizes & prices.

Are loans worth it? Early on, yes — the documented day-one loan ($30 → repay $34) bought a productive chicken days ahead of schedule and repaid itself from one day of trays. Rules: loans & bills.

What happens if I don’t pay bills? Fines bigger than the bills, observed in demo footage and carried into release. Pay at the management PC on every sell run.

Animals

Can animals die? Yes. Health at zero kills them; you trash the body and buy a replacement at whatever today’s market price is. Prevention: health & medicine.

Do animals have names? Yes — randomly generated, and the community has grown attached to results like “Chick Tunes.” No effect on stats observed.

How many birds fit in a pen? Six, every species.

Can ducks and chickens share a pen? No — pens are per-species.

Do golden eggs work like normal eggs? Better: rare, ~$10+ each, own 12-slot golden tray, every species can lay them. Details: golden eggs.

Does special feed increase golden egg chances? No confirmed link — goldens appeared in pens on plain feed and skipped pens on special feed. Treat it as random.

Machines and automation

What can’t be automated? Sweeping, feeding, selling and shopping. Water and egg collection can: farm automation.

Why isn’t my egg collector collecting? Arrow facing the wrong way, no compatible trays loaded, or eggs outside its enclosure. Checklist: egg collector.

When do I unlock the incubator? Level 50 in the launch build. What it does: hatches eggs into new animals. What’s still unknown: basically everything else — tracked honestly in the incubator guide.

Can I move a machine I placed wrong? Yes — there’s a Move action. No need to sell and rebuy.

The world

What are the mushrooms for? Unknown — they’re collectible-looking objects around the map with no confirmed use in the launch build. Flagged as an open question.

Can you leave the farm? No — the map is fenced, pond included. Everything happens on the farm.

Is there weather? No rain or seasons observed; a streamer pitched a weather system on camera and the developer hasn’t (yet, publicly) taken it up.

Are there workers or employees? No. Players speculated about them; nothing exists in the launch build.
